2 cups Flour
1 tsp Salt
2/3 cup Shortening (not butter-flavored)
2 tbs Butter, chilled
4 tbs Cold water
Sift together the flour and salt. Measure and combine the shortening and butter. Cut the butter mixture, 1/2 at a time, into the flour mixture. Add cold water slowly, gently stirring, then roll out on lightly floured surface. Makes enough dough for one 2- crust pie.
Cooking Tips: Only use plain shortening. Butter-flavored crisco makes the crust taste too buttery.
